Rest. Recover. Restore.
Improving Flexibility, Range of Motion, and Functionality…oh my!
“I can’t touch my toes.”
“I can’t get my leg to do this….” *awkward attempt to move leg into a figure-four stretch position.
“I’m just soooo tight!”
“The more I stretch, the worse it gets!”
Sound familiar?
If you are strong, healthy and super active, but also identify as tight, stiff and inflexible, Stretch Therapy with Pilates Native is for you.
With Stretch Therapy, I can help you improve your flexibility and increase your Range of Motion, allowing you to move better, faster and easier.
Sound too good to be true? Here’s what others are saying:
…I have one very bad knee, but the problem that brought me in was that my good knee was starting to hurt. This terrified me so I really needed to do something. I tried chiropractic on my good knee, shockwave therapy and working with a very good physical therapist on stretches and exercises. My PT told me that since my body is getting older I really needed to be more gentle with my approaches.

I have had only the minimal stiffness/soreness in my good knee since Rubecca started working with me, and my bad knee is even feeling better.
…Rubecca is very conscientious and gentle, and she has taught me different ways to stretch my legs and also has come up with different balance exercises that I really appreciate. She really listens.
I would definitely recommend Rubecca to people who need to stay active and have tried other modalities. Her approach is very gentle (I have always adhered to the philosophy of no pain, no gain). I’m done with that! Plus I really look forward to going in to see her. It is very relaxing and I always leave feeling better.
So what makes Stretch Therapy different from other stretch programs, massage or yoga classes?
Each FST session is done fully clothed, one-on-one and focuses on YOUR individual stretch needs for a full fifty minute session.
Unlike a yoga class, where you are actively working and engaged, during FST you relax on the stretch table while the stretch practitioner does all of the work for you!
Pilates Native utilizes the Stretch to Win method of FST. This method is a scientifically developed and proven mode of assisted stretch therapy. It was intentionally designed to take your hard working muscles, joints and fascia and give them the gentle stretch, rest, and movement they need.
The best part is that FST is designed to be pain free!
Stretch Therapy is for you if you:
- Are an athlete or someone who is regularly super physically active
- Are training for a high intensity event or competition (1/2 marathon, marathon, cycling, rock climbing, body building, ballet, etc) or you’re just intense and live for testing your physical limits!
- AND…
- You have super tight muscles or limited flexibility (ie can’t touch your toes)
- Your range of motion seems to be getting worse
- Your body just doesn’t feel as mobile as it used to
- Stretching yourself does nothing or makes things worse
- Rest and recovery are words you’ve heard of but never employ in your own life
Without any conscious input from you, your body has developed its own tricks, habits, compensations and muscle patterns to accomplish whatever task you’re after…whether or not you have the strength, range of motion, or form to perform the activity.
Over time, the body gets locked into those muscle patterns and begins to adapt by working with and around whatever those compensations happen to be. This could be a shorter range of motion, improper muscle activation, or over compensating for tighter muscle groups. This is what leads to inefficient motion, improper muscle usage, irritation, tightness, pain and eventually injury.
This is where FST can help.
We’ll use the Stretch to Win method of Fascial Stretch Therapy to target flexibility and Range of Motion. Each gentle, pain-free, full body session is designed to:
- Improve Range of Motion, which in turn increases physical strength, improves physical activity and improves sports performance.
- Decrease pain, stiffness and tightness in the muscles.
- Proactively help prevent injuries.
- Improve flexibility, posture and circulation.
- Be enjoyable! Assisted stretching is more effective (and more enjoyable) than self-stretching.
- Allow space for the central nervous system to relax and calm down, so healing and recover can take place.
These past few years I started having lots of issues with throwing out my lower back. Rubecca was gentle but firm with her stretching skills. Her knowledge of the body was very extensive and informative, she also gave me different tips for stretches I could do at home. I can’t wait to go back for another session!

I had never been to stretch therapy before and Rubecca was very knowledgeable and thorough explaining what she was doing for each stretch and why she was doing it and it feels so wonderful afterwards! It was such a relaxing experience and you feel all floppy at the end!! (in a good way!). I had a course of 6 sessions with Rubecca and it really helped my flexibility and I noticed improvements in the Pilates and yoga classes I went to. She also gave me some tips for stretches that I could do at home so I could keep it up between sessions.

Working with Rubecca is great! Her process is very effective. After 1 session my body felt more loose and relaxed and after 2 sessions, my muscles didn’t revert to their normal tight feel. The session is a very pleasant experience and has helped me train harder as my muscles were able to work more effectively.

What if I’m not an athlete? Will FST still work for me?
Yes!
FST is a great self-care modality for:
- Parents. Caring for children (of any age) can be mentally, emotionally and physically stressful. FST can help you treat the aches and pains of juggling toddlers (or teenagers!) and groceries while also giving you a clean, quiet space to relax.
- Business professionals. Sitting in one spot all day can be incredibly taxing on the body. It can also create unusual postural habits. FST can help iron out all of the kinks from sitting all day, whether it’s in an office, at a home desk or on the go.
- Type-A Stress heads. (And I do mean that in the most loving of ways). If you’re like me and you stress over EVERYTHING, FST is a great way to relax your central nervous system and give your brain and body time to chill out.
- Folks who are interested in self-care but aren’t comfortable with massage. Massage can be a little too vulnerable for some of us, which makes it hard to relax. FST is done fully clothed, and we can easily adapt your session to include brighter light and an open door.
