Giving thanks for you! Happy November, y’all! Before all of the holiday craziness starts up, I wanted to thank each of you for being a part of this journey. From my brother who let me set up a stretch table in the corner space of his kickboxing studio, to those three original Pilates clients who helped me navigate running my own studio, to the regulars who have made Pilates Native a part of your weekly health routine, to the social media stars who always like/comment on our posts and to all of our new clients! Y’all are amazing. Thank you for bringing your warmth, your energy and your passion to the studio every week. If you’ve only been in for a single session or it’s been a while since your last visit, I’d love to welcome you back to the studio. We’re now open 7 days a week and have 3 instructors to meet your needs. We’re also the only Pilates studio in town that offers Standing Pilates and Stretch Therapy. 😉 For boring news, I’m in the process of migrating the studio to a new booking software. Based on your feedback, 10to8 was just a little too squirrely on the client end of things, so hopefully a new platform will make managing bookings a lot easier. If you get a random notice for an appointment you’ve already booked, that’s just me migrating systems over. There will be an official launch notice when things are finally moved completely. In fun news, Laura will be increasing her hours to add Fridays 10am-1pm and she’ll also be offering sessions on Nov 22nd from 12pm-4pm. As is tradition in November, I like to highlight the awesome local and small businesses who are friends of our studio! Whether they are our clients, supporters or businesses we use, these folks are awesome. If you’re looking to shop local this holiday season, or you need support in one way or another, check out these amazing people. (If I missed you and your business, send me a note and I’ll be sure to add you to the next round of this list.)Have a very happy November! -Rubecca p.s. The Green Mountain 4-H kids will have a booth at the Green Mountain High School Craft Fair on Sat 11/12 from 10am-4pm. My kiddo will be there selling 3-d printed PLA earrings. He has dinosaurs, hummingbirds, lightning bolts, pis and some other fun designs in some very wild colors. :)p.p.s. You can now purchase egift cards for Pilates Native! How fun is that?!? |
Friends of the StudioCheck out this list for all of the amazing folks we know running small and/or local businesses! |
ABR Photography and Art House Portrait Photography and Art Alec has been my best friend since we were 15 and working at Target. She is my ride-or-die and I’m a MASSIVE fan of her art work. Check her out for some unique photoshoots or incredible one-of-a-kind artwork. Melissa Lynn PhotographyThis lovely lady specializes in Newborn and Family photos. Not only is she an incredibly sweet person, she’s also an amazing photog. Check out her sight for these mantle-worthy family photos! |
ATAX Highlands
Everyone hates taxes, which is why you should pay someone to do them for you.
I’ve known Enrique since high school and he has always been the smartest, most hardworking and honest guy I know. When I was looking for a new tax person, 4 (FOUR!) different people recommended him.
Add me to that long list of people recommending him, because I would highly recommend working w/ Enrique and his team. They offer in-person and virtual tax service which was SUPER convenient.
Level Up Financial Coaching
Joe and I went to CSM together. He’s a super smarty pants Mechanical Engineer who now runs his own financial coaching business.
Joe is my go-to financial coach and I’ve learned a lot from him. If you’re looking for someone to help you get a handle on money things in a way that works for you and your lifestyle, Joe’s your man.
I know nothing about insurance. But you know who does? These guys:
Mark Sammon Your local All State Insurance agent, who is also just across the parking lot from the studio! Talk about local. 😀 He’s also a great conversationalist and keeps an open mind about all of our weird music choices in studio!
Insurance Guru
Lou is my bff-for-life and my baby brother. He is a frequent silent presence in the studio, since he’s the one who helps me rearrange the studio, pick up furniture or equipment, and provides a sounding board for all of my crazy ideas.
Ben Ellefson- PorchLight Real Estate
Ben and his family are some of our very good family friends.
A native Coloradan, Ben has a great pulse for the Denver metro area market and is great fun.
If he looks familiar, it’s because he and his lovely wife were the models for the studio branding photoshoot.
Y’all know I LOVE to read. And you know what’s better than reading? Being able to talk character and plot development with the person who wrote the book!!!!
Dacia Dyer Long time friend and Pilates client, Dacia has 2 romance novels out. Set in Scotland, these books provide just enough spice to be classified as romance novels but are still appropriate for ages 14+. Excellent beach/pool/fireside reads.
Gina Fontaine You are a Super Mom
A fellow health-through-movement proponent, Gina introduced me to our business coach and provides an excellent sounding board for ideas in our shared space.
Vulnerable and honest, Gina’s book throws all of those other parenting books out on their head, especially when it comes to dealing with teenagers. Highly recommend for moms with kiddos of all ages.
Kody- Blown Away Salon
Cut, color, trim, men’s, women’s and kid’s, Kody does it all. He is our go-to family hair stylist and we’re probably never going anywhere else ever again.
He did the amazing mermaid multi-color dip dye on my hair and I can’t say enough great things about him or his salon!
Nutrition & Feng Shui
If you are looking for help with nutrition or home organization and feng shui, look no further than Tina Atchley!
Her approach to health and nutrition is functional, practical and designed to meet your needs whether you’re dealing with weight loss needs, allergies, weight gain or just overhauling your diet. No stupid gimmicks, weird powders or crazy trends.
We’ve been meeting at GMBC for book club this year and the boozy slushies are my favorite.
If you need a great place to gather with friends-n-fam this holiday season (or escape from friends-n-fam this holiday season lol) check out Green Mountain Beer Company. With a patio, lots of good beer and food trucks, GMBC is where it’s at.
Bodywork
Rolfing Resilience
I had no idea what Rolfing was when Joe from Level Up Financial Coaching recommended it, and I’m probably still terrible at explaining what it is, but Juliet is amazing.
My run times decrease drastically after each session with her and she managed to find and resolve that weird back pain from biking that no one else could figure out.
Rolfing works really well with Pilates + Stretch Therapy and I’ve been enjoying working with her through our trades.
The Light Remains
Tina is by far my favorite energy worker. She’s extremely compassionate and provides a wonderful gentle, safe and calm experience for folks needing a little help on the energy side of things.
She just opened up a new shop in Arvada, so be sure to check her out!
Muscleaneous Massage & Pilates
I had the pleasure of working with Simone while she was going through her Pilates instructor training course last year. She’s super fun and has a wicked knowledge of anatomy. Check her out if you’re up near Conifer.
Personal Trainers
After a lot of really terrible experiences, there are only two people I trust for Personal Training, Ryan and Josh.
RM Health Performance
Ryan is my go-to trainer. He’s extremely knowledgeable in anatomy, form, function and is 100% focused on quality of movement and safety. Every time I work with Ryan, I do things I didn’t even know I could do.
We share a couple of clients and our methods pair really well with each other.
You can reach him at: rmhealthandperformance@gmail.com
Primal Performance Training
Because we work in a shared space, I get to eavesdrop on Josh, a lot. (heehee)
Like Ryan, Josh focuses on form, safety and function while giving his clients just the right amount of challenge to keep them progressing.
He was also brave enough to demo some of the advanced Pilates repertoire for our instructor training, despite having never done Pilates!
You can reach him at: primalperformance5280@gmail.com
TM Ballroom
We all have those bucket list items that we dream on year after year. Well, inspired by my Pilates clients, I finally decided to just go for it and signed up for ballroom dance lessons with Todd. It’s so much fun!
Todd’s studio offers private classes and Friday night group dance lessons + dance party. If you ever find yourself in a dancing mood, let me know and I’ll meet you there on a Friday!
